Coatings, up to 100 µm thick, of titanium carbide, zirconium carbide, niobium carbide, titanium boride, zirconium boride, as well as of their mixes and compounds are applied on hard-metal tools, press moulds, press dies and other similar articles by way of electron-beam evaporation of the initial material (feedstock).
To extend the service life of such things, ELTECHMASH has the electron-beam equipment, which allows to generate, in accordance with the customer’s requirements, coatings of gradient type, dispersion-strengthened type and microlayered (multilayer) types: carbide/carbide, carbide/boride, boride/boride, metal (alloy)/carbide, metal (alloy)/boride and so on.
Application of dead-hard and wear-resistant coating extends the longevity of tools and press dies and moulds 2 to 6 times.
